5 Q’s With Tim Dardis, VP of Business Development

Alviere is excited to welcome Tim Dardis to its senior management team as the new Vice President of Business Development and Strategy.

Tim joins Alviere after spending the past 10 years at PayPal, where he held several senior sales and strategic partnership titles and managed relationships with leading global brands in a variety of vertical segments such as McDonalds, Uber, Intuit, Caesars, and Domino’s.

“Over the last 10 years I’ve learned how important it is for large brands to constantly evolve, enrich and deepen their relationships with their customers and fans.” Tim says. “The embedded finance platform Alviere offers brings to market a powerful value proposition that enables them to do just that.”

We caught up with Tim for our first installment of “5 Q’s With…”, a new series where we highlight the people behind the technology at Alviere.

First and foremost, welcome aboard, Tim! We’re super excited to have you join the Alviere family. In a few words, can you tell us what made you decide to join Alviere?

Tim: I believe we are at an inflection point in terms of what brands and marketplaces are able to provide their customers in terms of financial services. As such, I was looking for an opportunity to be a part of this future of finance. I've known Yuval for years, and when I learned what he and the team at Alviere were doing, I felt it would be a great fit and that I could bring a lot of value and momentum to this effort. After I met the rest of the team, I knew it was right for me!

What’s your role entail and what will you be focusing on at Alviere?

Tim: As VP of Business Development and Strategy, I will lead the efforts to drive adoption of Alviere’s platform by large name brands, global organizations, and tech platforms. I have experience working with well known companies such as McDonalds, Uber, and others, so my main focus will be to engage with them and create new mutually beneficial partnerships that enable the brands to be at the forefront of the fintech world.

As technology changes, what excites you most about the future of finance?

Tim: If I think back on my career—early in the e-commerce space when embedded finance was at its roots—we’re now at a stage where there’s a new wealth of opportunities that embedded finance can offer to brands. The fintech space is truly the future of money, and money is part of our everyday life. How we store it, save it, get it and invest it. We are playing a major role in the future of how all of us pay and get paid for anything, and that is a big deal.

Now, for a couple more personal questions: what’s your favorite childhood memory?

Tim: Camping trips and vacations with my family. This is a tradition that my Dad instilled in us growing up. No matter the situation, we went on a family vacation every year. And, rain or shine, we went camping once a year. Those memories still live with me today and the stories I took away from them never get old. My wife Megan and I are carrying that tradition on with our kids now.

Finally, we all want to know: what’s your favorite word?

Tim: I probably can't put that word out there since it already costs me $1 every time I say it at home! I guess the word or mindset I try to remind myself the most of is “gratitude” and to be grateful for all of the things I have and to focus on that.
